Texas Lantana

IMG_1910

I love this plant & its flower, the Texas Lantana. It is considered a pesky weed by some folks; Its a true testimony to the plant’s nearly indestructible traits. Texas Lantana blooms with masses of orange/yellow flowers that seem endless. The plant is drought tolerant, disease and pest resistant and thrives. It is a perfect choice for a low maintenance informal and wild flowerbeds although it works well in more formal arrangements. Xeriscape ready, provide Texas Lantana with ample space because it will get quite big.

Nesting Finch couple

house-finch

A finch couple has been trying to build a nest in my backyard. I found them trying to build their nest on top the light fixture & where they have only limited space to even perch.

April 2015

They kept on trying for so many days in vain.

Then the next day I see that the bird tried to lay egg & it somehow ended up in the floor. sigh!!

Hope they will find a better, safe & secure place to build their nest!
